Guess whose back, back again!

After finishing Uni (yay!) I took a little break from blogging, but I miss it so I’m getting things going again with my site. 🙂

I’ve started working at a Food-based supplement company as a marketing assistant, which I really enjoy as I love all the wellness, holistic stuff and I get to write about it every day – so that is ace.

I thought I’d just do a quick lust-list as I’m currently saving to go traveling so I am not allowed to be spending but as always, there’s a million things that I’d like to purchase!! Think of it as a haul… but of the imagination. Mainly following a traveling theme… You can see where my head is at right now I’m sure!!!

  1. I am loving these bikinis from River Island. Being not-so-blessed in the chest area, the neckline on the first is a complete winner and I love the design. Only thing is… tan lines. Hmmm, they’d be interesting! The second one I also love – colour is gorgeous and tassels are always flattering. Daydreaming of beach life right now.

  2. I LOVE SKINNYDIP ❤ These phone cases are literally so cool. I love them. I was absolutely going to treat myself to one that was in the sale and stopped myself the other day so I deserve a pat on the back x10000! They are just cool. No explanation needed.

  3. AND THIS PASSPORT HOLDER. Just look at it! Skinnydip is just great.

Anyway, Happy New Year you babes! Stay tuned 😉 ❤

Peace and Love and silly things.

Be a… Lifechanger

Can’t believe how long it’s been since my last post! I will not make excuses about final year, I will just provide a little post of a fashion brand that I’m appreciating/loving right now!

I recently came across Made by Riley – a fashion brand that has a mission to give to charities whilst making really cool clothes. I follow Riley on Instagram and I have been lusting slightly over the LifeChanger sweater, so I might have to invest. However, the guilty clothing purchase will be overshadowed by good-doing as 20% goes to charity.

I really appreciate the idea behind the brand and as a young entrepreneur trying to give back, I think people should show support. (Also, the clothes are cool!)

Check it out!

The Winter Dream… for the freest of people

When I think of Winter, I like to think of loads of cosy knitwear, snuggling, hot chocolate, mulled wine… But sometimes the reality is that you have freezing wet feet, cold hands and everything seems a little bit bleak.

Well, I can tell you with confidence that The Free People Blog makes Winter seem so beautiful. The editorials done with the incredible knitwear are literally what dreams are made of… ahhhhhhhh.

There is sooo much that I want from this website that I cannot even begin to describe… I intend to make a dreamlist of some beautiful items this weekend. (Obviously amongst uni work!) – Procrastination? Me? Never.

If you want to indulge in an item or two to make Winter feel a little more glam, then I recommend having a good browse on Free People – when you are done you will be so dazzled with gorgeousness that Winter may just become your favourite season…

Cosy days and sparkly ways

Firstly, I want to say sorry for not having blogged in a month! Crazy behaviour! I have been ridiculously busy settling in to final year at uni… it really is just as hectic as they say! Looking forward to the degree at the end of it though! 🙂

I just wanted to write a little post on what I love so much about Autumn/Winter clothes…

What I do not enjoy is the rain.. and the cold… and getting in to uni looking completely dishevelled and like a drowned rat. However, I do love those cosy times when you put on a big snuggly jumper and it’s frosty and pretty outside.

Also, what is totally brilliant about this time of year, is that party-wear gets SEQUIN-Y and VELVETY and YUMMY.

Topshop’s Party Rules gives you some great tips on wearing sequins… which is worth a read if you like to sparkle! However, in my book, there are no rules about how sequin-y you can be… the more the better! 😉

The sequin range is also amazing… SEQUIN JOGGERS…. YES PLEASE. These will be making the Christmas list cut!

3 charity-shop shopping tips to help you track down those little gems

charity shopbarnados

Hunting through rail after rail of clothes for that perfect item may not be everyone’s cup of tea…

But with enough dedication and some close attention to detail, you can find so many little gems that would have cost you the earth in another shop. As it is my day off University today, I thought I’d take a little trip out in to Winton high street and have a browse of what the many charity shops have to offer. As a poor University student in my final year, I should not really be shopping… my time should be spent reading up for my lectures and seminars in the rest of the week…. but everybody needs a bit of a treat sometimes, right? All work and no play is bad for us!

As I am a very practised shopper, it did not take me very long to find a bargain hanging on one of the rails in Barnados…

As it is the Autumn season, people are beginning to do the yearly thing of investing in knitwear and big cosy coats and jackets to keep us warm in those cold Winter months. But surprise surprise, these kinds of clothes are the most expensive (more material etc.) and for most of us, not on the top of our list of spending priorities. But if like me, you love the feel of showing off a new item of clothing, then I would definitely recommend a bit of charity shop bargain hunting.

In Barnados, my beady eyes noticed a cosy-looking stripey garment hanging on a rail in my size and I immediately picked it up. You know you’ve found a great bargain in a charity shop when you look at the price and think, “they have definitely priced this wrong, I’d better buy it quickly so they don’t realise and change the price…”
So I tried it on – lucky for me it fitted perfectly – and went and paid for it at the till.

The other wonderful thing about charity shops is that 99% of the time the staff are absolutely grateful that you are making a purchase so you always get a kind smile and a helping hand when needed.

So I walked out with my £4.49 warm snuggly Winter garment and skipped off down the high street.

3 charity shop shopping tips to help you track down those little gems:

  • Allow yourself some time – Don’t rush. You aren’t going to find any bargains if you don’t pay careful attention to what you are looking at. There will be items that you like, so keep your eyes peeled and take your time!
  • Pay careful attention to the sizes on the hangers. It’s no good finding the perfect item if you then realise that it is not your size – remember you can’t just ask for another size in a charity shop!
  • Don’t just visit one shop. There are so many charity shops around, all with different items to offer.

And remember, if you don’t find what you are looking for that day, go again! The beauty of charity shops is that people take in bags of clothes daily, so you never know what new items have come in!

Spread the joy of the wide brim…

Wide brimmed hats are everywhere in high street stores right now.

I am a huge fan of this trend – I think the right hat can always add a little sophistication and bring an outfit together. I currently own a black fedora hat from Topshop, which I absolutely love because it always makes me feel a bit more glam on a “not-so-glam” kind of day….

But lately I have been oh so very tempted to cheat on my beautiful fedora (which I rocked for most of summer) for something just that little bit more elegant looking. During a sneaky browse of Topshop, I fell in love with a wide brimmed floppy felt hat in Burgundy. This piece of gorgeous would have, however, cost me £28… and as a very poor student currently, I had to swiftly take myself out of the shop and drive myself home immediately.

After this shopping (no, actually BROWSING) trip, the only way to ease the pain of not purchasing this item was to blog about beautiful hats – hence the gushy hat blog post! If you want to lust over some wide brims looking beautiful on beautiful people, then I highly recommend checking out the Free People blog – one of my favourite places to look at beautiful things.
