Wednesday spends-day?!?

Just a quick one today… Another item from Merrimaking.co.uk that I absolutely need:

This Touch wood necklace…

I literally love the design of it – really quirky and would look really cool layered with a few other necklaces, or just on it’s own with a plain T-shirt! Mmmmmmm gimme.

Peace and love and TOUCH WOOD x

SPRING

The prettiest season is here and blossoming beautifully!

Spring is one of my favourite seasons because…

As the temperature heats up, people begin to crawl out from their Winter hibernation and hit the hills and the beer gardens.

Spring also means that Summer is on its way, which makes me extremely happy because after a cold Winter, all I want is a big beam of sunlight shining in my face. Bliss.

Spring is the beginning of festival season, when people come together, dance to great music and drink Cider.

Spring lifts everyone’s moods because sunlight is good for us, but it is not too hot that we can’t adjust (…well we can, but us Brits do love a moan!)

THE BEST OF THE FLOWERS ARE AROUND US. Wow. I have seen some beauties over the past couple of days and these were just in friends’ gardens.

So enjoy it and go outside!

Peace and love and Spring x

Style of the day…

Finally, the sun is here! This week has been gorgeous on the weather front, which makes me very excited to crack out the summer wardrobe! As you can see, I’ve recently had a balayage on my hair – blonder for summer! And I love it. Because I’ve got dark features, the roots match my face, but the softer lighter ends make it so much more summery looking.

I love this playsuit I bought from Urban Outfitters, by Silence + Noise (£39). I bought it a while ago and wore it with tights and boots, but now the sun is shining, it looks great with bear legs! It’s plain, so can easily be glammed up with jewellery to make an impact, but can also be worn casually. The style of the back is slightly drapey and crosses over to show a bit of skin. It’s so versatile, you can literally style it however you fancy.

Also wearing a bag and denim jacket from Topshop and black ankle boots from Primark. Loving denim jackets at the moment!

I’ve braided my hair in a French plait around my face, leading down in to a normal braid – I’m loving experimenting with styles from Pinterest at the moment. My balayage means that you can really see the detail in the styles.

Peace and love and summer style x

Or even wear it through to the evening with a bit of bright lipstick (Rimmel – Kate Moss is my absolutely fave!)

The place that will never disappoint… I LOVE YOU GLASTONBURY

ImageImage

What can I say… Glastonbury, you are a festival of dreams.

Those of you who enjoy the odd festival, but have never decided to set foot in the heart of Worthy Farm, please take my advice and make the life changing decision to try and get a ticket for next year.

Glastonbury is by far the most amazing, beautiful, massive and magical festival I’ve ever been to and offers something to everyone of every age and personality. I cannot deny that you may end up smelling as bad as the toilets and crying for days after, but believe me I would not change a second of it.

A few of the artists I was lucky enough to experience at the festival included the legendary:

Dolly Parton, Ed Sheeran, Blondie, The Kooks, Kodaline, John Newman…. (the list goes on but I am getting emotional typing these out.)

Dolly Parton – what an incredible woman and songwriter, her funny stories and character lifted me out of my raging hangover…

Kodaline – Although not everyone loves them… they are soooo talented…. AND IRISH! (Was pretty in love with them)

Ed Sheeran – Way too emotional the whole way through his set… Literally can’t fault him live

One of my favourite places of the whole experience has got to be Shangri-hell. Trooping through every night until 7am did not seem a struggle in this place… the place was buzzing.

I’ve been to Glastonbury twice now, this year and last year and still have not experienced half of everything I want to see… so many fields, so much fun to be had… I still haven’t had a massage from the healing fields or eaten a vegan breakfast…. But there’s always next year.

So anyone who hasn’t been yet, set yourself up on a million laptops and make sure you get yourself a ticket this year… because you’ll have the most fun you’ll ever had, make the best friends in the world, and all you’ll be thinking about after is how you are going to get a ticket for the next one.

I LOVE YOU GLASTONBURY YOU ABSOLUTE DREAMER

PEACE AND LOVE AND GLASTO

Because everybody loves a crazy day…

Dolls kill
Now Dolls Kill is not for the faint hearted… and some of the clothes on this website are pretty out-there! However, every time I look on this site, there are always some gems that I am after! And if there isn’t, I just love the styling of the website images. I fully intend to plait my hair like that and do the make-up above all summer long!

It’s not all that cheap… but it’s so much fun!

I love these Drivin’ Mizz Daizy Sunglasses ($60) They are too cute… I’m definitely going to go on a cool-sunglasses-hunt at festivals this summer and see if I can find any bargains!

Some SUMMERY SPANGLY MUST-HAVES

ImageImage

I’ve blogged about the sparkly brand that is Spanglewear before… but as more summery spangly beauties have arrived I thought it was only right to give another cheeky blog about it.

Glittery, patterned caps and jazzy colourful waistcoats have arrive just in time for (as if you don’t hear me talk about it enough) FESTIVAL SEASON. All these special pieces are one off and handmade, and from experience are absolutely gorgeous using good quality materials.

Have a little look on the website for a real treat for your eyes and minds!

I absolutely am in LOVE with the bunting above. Perfect for parties, gatherings and barbecues…. but even just for glam-ing up your tent at a festival! I may have a little go at making some before Glastonbury! Look out for the pretty tent! 🙂

Somerley Tea Party – Happy Festival Review

Its-Okay-to-Be-a-Glow-Stickme

What a lovely, happy, pretty festival.

This weekend I visited the magical enchanting woodland party spot that was Somerley Tea Party – a boutique underground electronic music festival. STP is a new festival, on the outskirts of the New Forest, taking place in the heart of the grounds of Old Somerley.

The festival location was absolutely perfect. There were high walls surrounding the main grass area, or you could walk through the walls and off in to the enchanted woods, full of decoration, stalls and cocktail bars. With a great line up featuring artists like Eats Everything and Ben Pearce, it was a sunny portal transporting me right in to a summery world of fun and dancing.

And what a perfect place to wear my gorgeous summery Ragged Priest Sample Sale jacket, which arrived that very morning (as seen above – bargain!!)… I was definitely in my element.

Best things about Somerley Tea Party

  • It was sunny! – OK, the organisers didn’t control this… but it definitely kick started everyone’s summers!
  • No drinks were over £5 and water was completely free – Nothing worse than having to pay extortionate amounts at festivals for water when it’s hot and everyone is getting dehydrated
  • Obviously the music…. great line up, amazing summer vibes
  • The location – Couldn’t have asked for a better location for a one day festival… gorgeously decorated… spacious… (woods were very Boomtown-like)

– The festival could have done with a couple more food stalls, there were only a couple and I love my festival food(!)… and maybe a few more toilets, but they are my only reservations!

A glorious little festival… I would absolutely recommend going in 2015!

For the love of bumbags

ImageImage

Bumbags are such a great invention… I’m so glad that a bag so perfectly practical came back in to fashion. I love this one from Asos (above) in brown and black. I’m such a huge fan of fringing and tassels at the moment – I think it gives things a bit of pretty hippy-ness about them! I also like the fact that it’s real leather, because it’s all about QUALITY – everyone needs a hard-wearing bag that will last them through thick and thin – so worth an investment!

But, if you are looking for something a bit less plain and a little more quirky (and I’m a massive fan of lots of crazy colour) then look no further…

ImageImageImage

These beauties from Urban Outfitters are not only practical, but look absolutely awesome. I love the print and colours on all three of these and they will definitely jazz up a plain outfit. Perfect for skipping around in the summer sun!

Stay happy 🙂

Keeping up with the crochet…

Keeping up with the crochet...

This is another photo taken from (obviously) my favourite blog/site/online clothes shop – Free People.

I never used to be a massive fan of crochet, but I’ve been seeing it everywhere recently! And when I think about it, I can see why it’s such a great summer trend!

It looks pretty…. you can wear it with everything…. you can where it over swimwear…. you won’t get too hot in it…. the list goes on and on.

I’ve been having a little browse for some nice (and cheapish!) crochet items so here we go:
(I’ve found some BEAUTIES!)

Kiera Crochet Knit Strappy Top £20 (Boohoo)
http://www.boohoo.com/new-in/kiera-crochet-knit-strappy-top/invt/azz31664
Seriously who could tell the difference between this and something from Free People?! It’s soooo prettyyyy, the circular design looks gorgeous and it’s nice and strappy, ready for summer festival days!

Crochet Shorts £24 (Topshop)
http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?searchTerm=crochet&storeId=12556&productId=14842824&urlRequestType=Base&categoryId=&langId=-1&productIdentifier=product&catalogId=33057
How cute are these!? Easy to wear with a simple tee or strap top… my only concern is festival grass stains!

Lucca Couture Crochet Shift Dress £47.59 (NastyGal)
http://www.nastygal.com/product/lucca-couture-crochet-shift-dress
Ok, so a little more pricey… but definitely a favourite! Really pretty detailing and simple to wear, no need to dress it up.

All you need to worry about now girls is the grass stains! – Or you could take note of the photo and buy some colourful crochet!
