Oh Bali, I love you.

One of the most enchanting places that I was lucky enough to visit during my travels was the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia.

I’d heard incredible things about Bali before going there, but I didn’t think I’d fall in love with it as much as I did. After flying in to the sweaty hustle and bustle of Denpasar, I was relieved to begin my Bali journey in the much more tranquil, cultural and crafty town of Ubud. Surrounded by Bali’s iconic rice fields, Ubud has so much to offer. As well as viewing the incredible landscapes and simply taking the stunning views in, there’s also plenty to keep you occupied, such as eating at one of Ubud’s healthy organic cafes, visiting the Monkey Forest, visiting the historic temples or checking out the local Art.

One of the best ways to really explore Bali is going on a tour (in a taxi). We booked our driver in Ubud, and as a lover of waterfalls I asked if he would take us to see one (not originally in the set tour). It was a fairly long journey (a couple of hours north) but we finally reached GitGit Twin waterfall, which was absolutely breathtaking. As Agung, our driver, picked us up early, we managed to get to the waterfall when it was completely empty and enjoy some time swimming before other people began to arrive.

There were a few other places that we visited on the tour including some of Bali’s stunning rice fields – I cannot even describe the colours and charm of the scenery as my words just wouldn’t do it justice. We had lunch and coffee overlooking the fields in a little Balinese restaurant and looked out over the stunning views. It was a tranquil bliss that I’ve never experienced before. On our way back to Ubud, we visited our driver, Agung’s home and drank fresh coconuts offered by his Uncle, which were the freshest and sweetest I have ever tasted.

I could write about Bali literally all day. It is the most stunningly beautiful and serene place, especially when you explore a bit deeper away from the more touristy areas.

Peace, love and waterfalls all day long

Guess whose back, back again!

After finishing Uni (yay!) I took a little break from blogging, but I miss it so I’m getting things going again with my site. 🙂

I’ve started working at a Food-based supplement company as a marketing assistant, which I really enjoy as I love all the wellness, holistic stuff and I get to write about it every day – so that is ace.

I thought I’d just do a quick lust-list as I’m currently saving to go traveling so I am not allowed to be spending but as always, there’s a million things that I’d like to purchase!! Think of it as a haul… but of the imagination. Mainly following a traveling theme… You can see where my head is at right now I’m sure!!!

  1. I am loving these bikinis from River Island. Being not-so-blessed in the chest area, the neckline on the first is a complete winner and I love the design. Only thing is… tan lines. Hmmm, they’d be interesting! The second one I also love – colour is gorgeous and tassels are always flattering. Daydreaming of beach life right now.

  2. I LOVE SKINNYDIP ❤ These phone cases are literally so cool. I love them. I was absolutely going to treat myself to one that was in the sale and stopped myself the other day so I deserve a pat on the back x10000! They are just cool. No explanation needed.

  3. AND THIS PASSPORT HOLDER. Just look at it! Skinnydip is just great.

Anyway, Happy New Year you babes! Stay tuned 😉 ❤

Peace and Love and silly things.

I literally love the design of it – really quirky and would look really cool layered with a few other necklaces, or just on it’s own with a plain T-shirt! Mmmmmmm gimme.

Peace and love and TOUCH WOOD x

A lovely little lust list

Sorry for not having blogged in a little while, I have been moving home from University in preparation for the real world… well as much as you can class living with my parents “the real world”. But still. I have got a new job lined up as a Marketing Co-ordinator, which I will start on the 15th of July, but until then, I am very much penny-less and lusting over things that I just cannot afford. So, I decided to write a short post on certain things that I’d be spending my money on right now if I wasn’t so poor!
1. camera-4-640x430 (Image by beautyandrags.co.uk) What I wouldn’t do to have one of these beauties in my life. I want to be part of the Olympus PEN generation! I give it two months at work until I cave and treat myself to this camera. Did I say two months? I meant two weeks.
2. bumbag(Image by merrimaking.co.uk) Have you ever seen a happier looking bumbag? I don’t think you have… This is the cutest looking thing and I feel like I need it in my life for festival fun. Found this on Lazy Oaf’s website… absolutely love Lazy Oaf at the moment. I think because it’s summer I want all of my clothes to look fun and crazy… all the time. After getting the image from Merrimaking.co.uk, I then discovered Merrimaking… which lead me on to my next lust item…
3. Disco-product_Merrimaking(Image by Merrimaking.co.uk) The DISCO sweatshirt. I love this. I love disco. That is all. I advise any festival lovers to check out Merrimaking if you haven’t heard of them! Bound to cheer up a drizzly Monday.
4. 5560435980795_046_b (Image by Urban Outfitters.com) In my head I’m imagining a barbecue on a terrace, corks popping, drinks flowing, summer tunes breezing through my (imaginary) swanky flat… You feeling it too? Absolutely love this record player from Urban Outfitters… Now I’ve just got to get my own place and matching furniture and everything… No biggie.
5. 811XBaEo4EL._SL1500_(Image by Amazon. com) Now my final thing is a little bit of a cheat as my Mum (who I am currently living with) did actually buy one of these so I do have daily access to one. But this means I know how great it is… and it’s pretty great! I love just throwing in healthy ingredients and making all sorts of crazy looking blends. Man, I’m so wild. But healthiness is the first step to happiness! Or something like that…

Hope you all enjoyed my lust-list and it gives you some summer inspo for spending your money… if you didn’t have enough already!

Peace love and lust-lists xxx

Sugary goodness

FullSizeRender-2FullSizeRender

The other day I decided to go on a little spontaneous shopping trip and visited one of my favourite shops ever, LUSH. After choosing some shower gel and shaving cream for my Dad for his birthday (I’d run out of ideas!), I decided to get myself a little treat as well, because I’m naughty and can’t help it.

So I had a little browse around the bath bombs and massage bars, as you do, then suddenly had an urge to be good and not buy anything… which went really well… until I reached the till to pay for my Dad’s presents. This little pot of lip scrub caught my eye and I had a moment of weakness and popped it on the counter.

Now, I chose from three flavours: bubblegum, popcorn and mint julips. I went straight for the mint, because I thought the other ones sounded slightly strange and the girl at the till even advised towards it.

The product is, in essence, a little pot of flavoured sugar. Now, don’t get me wrong, to me, this isn’t a bad thing. I think more shops should stock small transportable pots of sugar that women can carry around in their handbags… the world would be a happier place. Just remember, if you buy this product don’t expect that it is more than flavoured sugar… BUT in terms of the idea and the results of the product, I actually love it. The most annoying thing when you are trying to apply lipstick is dry lips and just like skin, lips need prepping too. It really does naturally exfoliate your lips and remove any dead skin that will prevent your pout from looking perfect when applying lipstick or lipgloss. The mint flavour is great as well and if you accidentally get it in your mouth… it does not matter because it tastes amazing!

Overall, I’m loving the lip scrub… even if it is just a pot of sugar that keeps your lips soft… because that is totally OK. Why would you complain about a portable pot of sugar? Exactly.

Peace and love and sugary lips xxx

Feeling pretty WHIMSICAL (I love TOPSHOP lipstick)

11173427_10152983210273264_1836175790_n 11160378_10152983212693264_150453554_n

I thought as it’s getting all sunny and lovely that I’d purchase a new summery lipstick. I absolutely love Topshop matte lipstick. I’ve had a bright pink colour for ages and it is my favourite lipstick ever. So I thought I’d try Whimsical, which is a coral-y peachy kind of colour.

I was a bit worried that it would come out really orange on my lips but it was quite subtle and as I’ve been doing a little cheeky fake tanning lately, it looked great with a bit of a bronze glow! I went out for drinks with my friends and was drinking wine all night (it was Friday!) and it stayed on really well. I only reapplied once, but it wasn’t really needed, I think I was just overexcited about the new lipstick! hehe.

It’s such a nice summer coral colour and looks really cool with the matte effect on your lips. I also really like the Topshop tubes – I think they’re a really cute design.

So I’m definitely feeling WHIMSICAL!

Peace love and summer vibes x

SPRING

The prettiest season is here and blossoming beautifully!

Spring is one of my favourite seasons because…

As the temperature heats up, people begin to crawl out from their Winter hibernation and hit the hills and the beer gardens.

Spring also means that Summer is on its way, which makes me extremely happy because after a cold Winter, all I want is a big beam of sunlight shining in my face. Bliss.

Spring is the beginning of festival season, when people come together, dance to great music and drink Cider.

Spring lifts everyone’s moods because sunlight is good for us, but it is not too hot that we can’t adjust (…well we can, but us Brits do love a moan!)

THE BEST OF THE FLOWERS ARE AROUND US. Wow. I have seen some beauties over the past couple of days and these were just in friends’ gardens.

So enjoy it and go outside!

Peace and love and Spring x

Too Faced Cocoa Contour… So good I could eat it!

11086644_10152962487103264_327139522_n-2

I was lucky enough to win an Instagram competition the other day with Roses Beauty Store and the prize was the Too Faced Cocoa Contour palette (£29) (Thanks Roses Beauty Store!!) Now, this palette is just amazing. The gold and brown packaging actually looks like a chocolate bar so already, as a self confessed chocoholic, I am drawn to it. It actually smells like chocolate. To be honest, it had already sold itself to me before I’d even applied any of the makeup. It smells so dreamy. I actually sat there sniffing it for a while!

11119978_10152952548033264_378069930_n
So, it has four colours and a handy little book that tells you exactly how to contour different looks. It will expand your makeup horizons, trust me! The four colours are light cocoa, medium cocoa, dark cocoa and pop of light. It comes with its own little brush for application and blending. The brush is the perfect size for application as it isn’t too big and has a really soft texture. I would say that if you do not usually contour, this is a perfect beginner’s palette!
11145962_10152952524398264_1640604952_n11118561_10152952524493264_530724204_n

So, the first picture as you can see, I am completely bare-faced as I wanted to show what my face looks like with no makeup on at all so you can see its shape. Then I applied a base using YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation (which really is the most gorgeous foundation in the world). The next picture shows what my face looked like before I blended the colours. I only applied it on one side of the face so you can see how it compares to the other side. I then applied it to the other side and blended. As you can see, it really gives cheekbone definition – the creamy highlighter does literally add a “pop of light” to the bones of the cheeks and the cocoas create the contour.

11149228_10152952524728264_1971401112_n961688_10152952525148264_404956246_n 11121896_10152952525268264_566084042_n11131734_10152952525378264_5253416_n

The next photos just show how it looked when I added mascara and a pop of colour to my lips.

11092667_10152952526368264_344097204_n11148953_10152952526973264_1579819761_n

This was quite a daytime look, however the colour variety in the palette gives you the option of going for a more dramatic contour for an evening. It’s such a lovely palette and it smells so gorgeous that you can literally just play around with it until you discover what looks best on your face shape. Huge thumbs up from me. Almost edible!!! Chanel Mademoiselle VS. My Burberry

11122410_10152950169143264_2049763877_n

Both gorgeous luxury brands, both gorgeous bottles… but which to choose?

My favourite perfume of all time, is Chanel – Chance. But it is my summer choice, so I’m going to hold out buying it until it reaches at least May! (My birthday is also in May so hint hint!) But on my shelf at the moment, I have these two beauties. Firstly, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, which my Mum donated to me after going on Holiday over Easter… Beats an Easter egg hands down so thanks Mum!
And secondly, Burberry – My Burberry, which was given to me for Christmas by my lovely boyfriend.

To start with, the packaging. If you’re like me and like to carry a perfume round in your handbag, then the Coco Mademoiselle is the more transportable option. My Burberry has a fairly large top to it, and the bottle is a bit more chunky in general.

Coco Mademoiselle: 1
My Burberry: 0

However, I am a bit in love with the classic and elegant appearance of My Burberry. The trench coat-styled lid and the taupe ribbon looks so classy and it’s the kind of perfume that looks like a bit of a treasure with it’s gold swirly writing.

However, not a great deal can beat Chanel’s classic bottle – appealing to a possibly younger lover of pink gorgeousness!

Coco Mademoiselle: 1 ?
My Burberry: 1

11139627_10152950169308264_152927480_n

I absolutely love the smell of My Burberry, and was completely won over by the Cara Delevingne/Kate Moss advert, despite being a Marketing student! However, it is quite a heavy scent and I would say that it is more an evening perfume than one for the day. It is a deep floral smell that was created to capture a British image, with it’s stylised trench coat top. It has good staying power, lasting for 6 hours I’d say before fading.

Coco Mademoiselle is a lot lighter and more subtle – an easier wear in the day time I find. I am a bit of a sucker for sweeter, lighter perfumes so I find this one suits me better I think. I feel like it is a younger perfume than the My Burberry. With jasmine and rose undertones, it is light and girly. I find that Coco Mademoiselle is has slightly less staying power, but I tend to carry the cute little bottle around with me!

Coco Mademoiselle: 1
My Burberry: 1

11146163_10152950255548264_112683006_n

Price: (At Boots, because that’s where I tend to purchase my perfume)

£67.50 – 50ml – Coco Mademoiselle
£65.00 – 50ml – My Burberry

Coco Mademoiselle: 0
My Burberry: 1

So all in all, they are both TOP NOTCH fragrances, and I cannot really fault either, because I am madly in love with both. Personally, Coco Mademoiselle is more of my day scent and My Burberry is for an evening, but which ever you choose, you will smell delicious!

Which one do you prefer?
