Oh Bali, I love you.

Amongst my top 3 places that I travelled was the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia.

I’d heard incredible things about Bali before going there, but I didn’t think I’d fall in love with it as much as I did. After flying in to the sweaty hustle and bustle of Denpasar, I was relieved to begin my Bali journey in the much more tranquil, cultural and crafty town of Ubud. Surrounded by Bali’s iconic rice fields, Ubud has so much to offer. As well as it’s incredible landscapes there’s plenty to do, such as eating at one of Ubud’s healthy organic cafes, visiting the Monkey Forest or checking out the local Art.

As cultural as I like to be, I do have a guilty pleasure… Pizza. And on that note, we found an absolute gem in Umah Pizza. I won’t bang on too much about pizza when I’m writing about Bali, but if you happen to be in Bali craving a pizza, get yourself down to Umah’s!

One of the best ways to really explore Bali is going on a tour (in a taxi). We booked our driver in Ubud and as a lover of waterfalls I asked if he would take us to see one (not originally in the set tour). It was a fairly long journey (a couple of hours north) but we finally reached GitGit Twin waterfall, which was absolutely beautiful. As Agung, our driver, picked us up early, we managed to get to the waterfall when it was completely empty and enjoy some time swimming before other people began to arrive.

There were a few other places that we visited on the tour including some of Bali’s stunning rice fields – I cannot even describe the colours and charm of the scenery as my words won’t do it justice. We had lunch and coffee overlooking the fields in a little Balinese restaurant and the views were just incredible. We also visited our driver, Agung’s home and drank fresh coconuts that his Uncle gave us, which tasted amazing and was such a great addition to the day.

I could write about Bali literally all day, but I’ll save some (and my favourite part!) for next time. It is the most amazing, beautiful and serene place, especially when you explore a bit deeper away from the more touristy areas.

Peace, love and waterfalls all day long

Guess whose back, back again!

After finishing Uni (yay!) I took a little break from blogging, but I miss it so I’m getting things going again with my site. 🙂

I’ve started working at a Food-based supplement company as a marketing assistant, which I really enjoy as I love all the wellness, holistic stuff and I get to write about it every day – so that is ace.

I thought I’d just do a quick lust-list as I’m currently saving to go traveling so I am not allowed to be spending but as always, there’s a million things that I’d like to purchase!! Think of it as a haul… but of the imagination. Mainly following a traveling theme… You can see where my head is at right now I’m sure!!!

  1. I am loving these bikinis from River Island. Being not-so-blessed in the chest area, the neckline on the first is a complete winner and I love the design. Only thing is… tan lines. Hmmm, they’d be interesting! The second one I also love – colour is gorgeous and tassels are always flattering. Daydreaming of beach life right now.

  2. I LOVE SKINNYDIP ❤ These phone cases are literally so cool. I love them. I was absolutely going to treat myself to one that was in the sale and stopped myself the other day so I deserve a pat on the back x10000! They are just cool. No explanation needed.

  3. AND THIS PASSPORT HOLDER. Just look at it! Skinnydip is just great.

Anyway, Happy New Year you babes! Stay tuned 😉 ❤

Peace and Love and silly things.

I literally love the design of it – really quirky and would look really cool layered with a few other necklaces, or just on it’s own with a plain T-shirt! Mmmmmmm gimme.

Too Faced Cocoa Contour… So good I could eat it!

I was lucky enough to win an Instagram competition the other day with Roses Beauty Store and the prize was the Too Faced Cocoa Contour palette (£29) (Thanks Roses Beauty Store!!) Now, this palette is just amazing. The gold and brown packaging actually looks like a chocolate bar so already, as a self confessed chocoholic, I am drawn to it. It actually smells like chocolate. To be honest, it had already sold itself to me before I’d even applied any of the makeup. It smells so dreamy. I actually sat there sniffing it for a while!

So, it has four colours and a handy little book that tells you exactly how to contour different looks. It will expand your makeup horizons, trust me! The four colours are light cocoa, medium cocoa, dark cocoa and pop of light. It comes with its own little brush for application and blending. The brush is the perfect size for application as it isn’t too big and has a really soft texture. I would say that if you do not usually contour, this is a perfect beginner’s palette!

So, the first picture as you can see, I am completely bare-faced as I wanted to show what my face looks like with no makeup on at all so you can see its shape. Then I applied a base using YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation (which really is the most gorgeous foundation in the world). The next picture shows what my face looked like before I blended the colours. I only applied it on one side of the face so you can see how it compares to the other side. I then applied it to the other side and blended. As you can see, it really gives cheekbone definition – the creamy highlighter does literally add a “pop of light” to the bones of the cheeks and the cocoas create the contour.

The next photos just show how it looked when I added mascara and a pop of colour to my lips.

This was quite a daytime look, however the colour variety in the palette gives you the option of going for a more dramatic contour for an evening. It’s such a lovely palette and it smells so gorgeous that you can literally just play around with it until you discover what looks best on your face shape. Huge thumbs up from me. Almost edible!!! A perfect Easter Vitamin D-Detox that you will not forget!

11096875_10152944481743264_1423800175_n

After a weekend of a fair amount of chocolate and unhealthy bits and bobs, a detox was much needed! But instead of heading to the gym, I thought I’d take advantage of one of the most beautiful days of the year so far and climb a big old hill to burn off a few of the chocolate calories – and it was a great decision!

11116148_10152944481663264_716743575_n 11139527_10152944481723264_320344250_n

Before starting my day, I had a rainbow fruit salad for my breakfast, as I needed some vitamins and colour in my life, before picking up my friend and heading to Hay-on-Wye. It’s such a gorgeous little town and we had a walk round all the shops and lusted over some amazing looking fudge (but carefully resisted!) … However, we may have given in to ice cream temptation at Shepherds – no regrets! I had peanut butter and chocolate and mint choc chip…. Yes, this is still a detox if you’ve seen the size of Hay Bluff (the hill)!

It was such a gorgeous day to be doing it that I didn’t even think about the exercise… I highly recommend a day out walking up a hill if you are lacking fitness inspiration – the views were absolutely incredible. And I must have burned off a few eggs and the ice cream at least!

Vitamin D from the sun can prevent bone abnormalities, brittle bones and can help increase resistance again some diseases. The sunshine is also a mood enhancer, which will lift you out of your easter chocolate coma!

Peace and Love and Sunshine x

Wanderlusting daydreaming

Wanderlust: ” a strong desire or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world”

All I can think about at the moment is traveling. Procrastination from the dissertation takes me to lusting over exploring new places…

However, this post is actually about a jewellery brand combining my wanderlusting with one of my other favourite things… Shopping for pretty things. Wanderlust jewellery is a bohemian jewellery brand inspired by travel. And I’m now obsessed. They have so many gorgeous designs, including beautiful elephant rings rings and “wish in a bottle” necklaces (my personal favourite!)

I follow Wanderlust Jewellery on Instagram and the gorgeous pieces of jewellery always catch my eye! I would recommend lovers of jewellery and serial wanderluster’s to check them out!

Peace love and Wanderlust
