Sugary goodness

The other day I decided to go on a little spontaneous shopping trip and visited one of my favourite shops ever, LUSH. After choosing some shower gel and shaving cream for my Dad for his birthday (I’d run out of ideas!), I decided to get myself a little treat as well, because I’m naughty and can’t help it.

So I had a little browse around the bath bombs and massage bars, as you do, then suddenly had an urge to be good and not buy anything… which went really well… until I reached the till to pay for my Dad’s presents. This little pot of lip scrub caught my eye and I had a moment of weakness and popped it on the counter.

Now, I chose from three flavours: bubblegum, popcorn and mint julips. I went straight for the mint, because I thought the other ones sounded slightly strange and the girl at the till even advised towards it.

The product is, in essence, a little pot of flavoured sugar. Now, don’t get me wrong, to me, this isn’t a bad thing. I think more shops should stock small transportable pots of sugar that women can carry around in their handbags… the world would be a happier place. Just remember, if you buy this product don’t expect that it is more than flavoured sugar… BUT in terms of the idea and the results of the product, I actually love it. The most annoying thing when you are trying to apply lipstick is dry lips and just like skin, lips need prepping too. It really does naturally exfoliate your lips and remove any dead skin that will prevent your pout from looking perfect when applying lipstick or lipgloss. The mint flavour is great as well and if you accidentally get it in your mouth… it does not matter because it tastes amazing!

Overall, I’m loving the lip scrub… even if it is just a pot of sugar that keeps your lips soft… because that is totally OK. Why would you complain about a portable pot of sugar? Exactly.

Chanel Mademoiselle VS. My Burberry

Both gorgeous luxury brands, both gorgeous bottles… but which to choose?

My favourite perfume of all time, is Chanel – Chance. But it is my summer choice, so I’m going to hold out buying it until it reaches at least May! (My birthday is also in May so hint hint!) But on my shelf at the moment, I have these two beauties. Firstly, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, which my Mum donated to me after going on Holiday over Easter… Beats an Easter egg hands down so thanks Mum!
And secondly, Burberry – My Burberry, which was given to me for Christmas by my lovely boyfriend.

To start with, the packaging. If you’re like me and like to carry a perfume round in your handbag, then the Coco Mademoiselle is the more transportable option. My Burberry has a fairly large top to it, and the bottle is a bit more chunky in general.

My Burberry: 0

However, I am a bit in love with the classic and elegant appearance of My Burberry. The trench coat-styled lid and the taupe ribbon looks so classy and it’s the kind of perfume that looks like a bit of a treasure with it’s gold swirly writing.

However, not a great deal can beat Chanel’s classic bottle – appealing to a possibly younger lover of pink gorgeousness!

I absolutely love the smell of My Burberry, and was completely won over by the Cara Delevingne/Kate Moss advert, despite being a Marketing student! However, it is quite a heavy scent and I would say that it is more an evening perfume than one for the day. It is a deep floral smell that was created to capture a British image, with it’s stylised trench coat top. It has good staying power, lasting for 6 hours I’d say before fading.

Coco Mademoiselle is a lot lighter and more subtle – an easier wear in the day time I find. I am a bit of a sucker for sweeter, lighter perfumes so I find this one suits me better I think. I feel like it is a younger perfume than the My Burberry. With jasmine and rose undertones, it is light and girly. I find that Coco Mademoiselle is has slightly less staying power, but I tend to carry the cute little bottle around with me!

Price: (At Boots, because that’s where I tend to purchase my perfume)

£67.50 – 50ml – Coco Mademoiselle
£65.00 – 50ml – My Burberry

Coco Mademoiselle: 0
My Burberry: 1

So all in all, they are both TOP NOTCH fragrances, and I cannot really fault either, because I am madly in love with both. Personally, Coco Mademoiselle is more of my day scent and My Burberry is for an evening, but which ever you choose, you will smell delicious!

Which one do you prefer?

Craving some colour in your cheeks? Look no further

Just want to do a quick post about one of my favourite products (possibly of all time.) The best ever product to give your face an all round healthy glow, without looking at all orange is… (drum roll please!)

Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer.

This stuff is an absolute dream. It is specifically for your face, and is so easy to use. All you need to do is hold it about 40cm from the face and move the can from side to side for about 3 seconds. If you follow these simple instructions, it leaves you with such a healthy glow and looks so natural. You can keep using it every day until you reach the desired colour. It is called self tanning dry face mist and it feels really light on your skin and dries in seconds.

Not only does it make you look like you have a natural tan (making you look so much healthier, especially in the Winter months when times are pale!) but it also smells INCREDIBLE. It is one of my favourite smells. Reminds me of holiday and just smells lovely… which is unexpected from a fake tan!

It is only £8.49 at Superdrug, but well worth the price – amazing product!

Peace and love and glowing faces x
