Sugary goodness

The other day I decided to go on a little spontaneous shopping trip and visited one of my favourite shops ever, LUSH. After choosing some shower gel and shaving cream for my Dad for his birthday (I’d run out of ideas!), I decided to get myself a little treat as well, because I’m naughty and can’t help it.

So I had a little browse around the bath bombs and massage bars, as you do, then suddenly had an urge to be good and not buy anything… which went really well… until I reached the till to pay for my Dad’s presents. This little pot of lip scrub caught my eye and I had a moment of weakness and popped it on the counter.

Now, I chose from three flavours: bubblegum, popcorn and mint julips. I went straight for the mint, because I thought the other ones sounded slightly strange and the girl at the till even advised towards it.

The product is, in essence, a little pot of flavoured sugar. Now, don’t get me wrong, to me, this isn’t a bad thing. I think more shops should stock small transportable pots of sugar that women can carry around in their handbags… the world would be a happier place. Just remember, if you buy this product don’t expect that it is more than flavoured sugar… BUT in terms of the idea and the results of the product, I actually love it. The most annoying thing when you are trying to apply lipstick is dry lips and just like skin, lips need prepping too. It really does naturally exfoliate your lips and remove any dead skin that will prevent your pout from looking perfect when applying lipstick or lipgloss. The mint flavour is great as well and if you accidentally get it in your mouth… it does not matter because it tastes amazing!

Overall, I’m loving the lip scrub… even if it is just a pot of sugar that keeps your lips soft… because that is totally OK. Why would you complain about a portable pot of sugar? Exactly.

Peace and love and sugary lips xxx

Feeling pretty WHIMSICAL (I love TOPSHOP lipstick)

I thought as it’s getting all sunny and lovely that I’d purchase a new summery lipstick. I absolutely love Topshop matte lipstick. I’ve had a bright pink colour for ages and it is my favourite lipstick ever. So I thought I’d try Whimsical, which is a coral-y peachy kind of colour.

I was a bit worried that it would come out really orange on my lips but it was quite subtle and as I’ve been doing a little cheeky fake tanning lately, it looked great with a bit of a bronze glow! I went out for drinks with my friends and was drinking wine all night (it was Friday!) and it stayed on really well. I only reapplied once, but it wasn’t really needed, I think I was just overexcited about the new lipstick! hehe.

It’s such a nice summer coral colour and looks really cool with the matte effect on your lips. I also really like the Topshop tubes – I think they’re a really cute design.

So I’m definitely feeling WHIMSICAL!

Peace love and summer vibes x

Style of the day…

Finally, the sun is here! This week has been gorgeous on the weather front, which makes me very excited to crack out the summer wardrobe! As you can see, I’ve recently had a balayage on my hair – blonder for summer! And I love it. Because I’ve got dark features, the roots match my face, but the softer lighter ends make it so much more summery looking.

I love this playsuit I bought from Urban Outfitters, by Silence + Noise (£39). I bought it a while ago and wore it with tights and boots, but now the sun is shining, it looks great with bear legs! It’s plain, so can easily be glammed up with jewellery to make an impact, but can also be worn casually. The style of the back is slightly drapey and crosses over to show a bit of skin. It’s so versatile, you can literally style it however you fancy.

Also wearing a bag and denim jacket from Topshop and black ankle boots from Primark. Loving denim jackets at the moment!

I’ve braided my hair in a French plait around my face, leading down in to a normal braid – I’m loving experimenting with styles from Pinterest at the moment. My balayage means that you can really see the detail in the styles.

Peace and love and summer style x

Or even wear it through to the evening with a bit of bright lipstick (Rimmel – Kate Moss is my absolutely fave!)

A perfect Easter Vitamin D-Detox that you will not forget!

11096875_10152944481743264_1423800175_n

After a weekend of a fair amount of chocolate and unhealthy bits and bobs, a detox was much needed! But instead of heading to the gym, I thought I’d take advantage of one of the most beautiful days of the year so far and climb a big old hill to burn off a few of the chocolate calories – and it was a great decision!

Before starting my day, I had a rainbow fruit salad for my breakfast, as I needed some vitamins and colour in my life, before picking up my friend and heading to Hay-on-Wye. It’s such a gorgeous little town and we had a walk round all the shops and lusted over some amazing looking fudge (but carefully resisted!) … However, we may have given in to ice cream temptation at Shepherds – no regrets! I had peanut butter and chocolate and mint choc chip…. Yes, this is still a detox if you’ve seen the size of Hay Bluff (the hill)!

It was such a gorgeous day to be doing it that I didn’t even think about the exercise… I highly recommend a day out walking up a hill if you are lacking fitness inspiration – the views were absolutely incredible. And I must have burned off a few eggs and the ice cream at least!

Vitamin D from the sun can prevent bone abnormalities, brittle bones and can help increase resistance again some diseases. The sunshine is also a mood enhancer, which will lift you out of your easter chocolate coma!

The London Dream (part 1) Limbo

After recovering from Glastonbury and St. Paul’s carnival in Bristol, I headed to London on the 8th July to stay with my friend for a few days and then my sister…
As a birthday present my lovely friend Em bought me tickets for her and I to go and see a show at the Udderbelly festival at South bank. She surprised me with the show, Limbo… I had no idea what to expect and from the name it’s quite hard to predict what it would be like…

The performers were beyond incredible. I wouldn’t want to ruin it for people who might see it in the future, but I never thought that the human body was actually capable of moving in those ways. And whilst being completely stunned at the way the cast effortlessly pulled off these incredible moves, they also made it funny and quirky. There was not a boring moment. I could watch that show over and over again and every time be absolutely amazed (and extremely jealous I do not share that talent or have a body like that!) Lots of fire beautiful costumes, topless men and another level of flexibility and precision. What more could you ask for from a show?

Accompanied by great company and a lot of wine, that is my first priceless highlight of living my own little London dream.

I will do a few more London installments shortly…

Peace love and limbo x

The place that will never disappoint… I LOVE YOU GLASTONBURY

What can I say… Glastonbury, you are a festival of dreams.

Those of you who enjoy the odd festival, but have never decided to set foot in the heart of Worthy Farm, please take my advice and make the life changing decision to try and get a ticket for next year.

Glastonbury is by far the most amazing, beautiful, massive and magical festival I’ve ever been to and offers something to everyone of every age and personality. I cannot deny that you may end up smelling as bad as the toilets and crying for days after, but believe me I would not change a second of it.

A few of the artists I was lucky enough to experience at the festival included the legendary:

Dolly Parton, Ed Sheeran, Blondie, The Kooks, Kodaline, John Newman…. (the list goes on but I am getting emotional typing these out.)

Dolly Parton – what an incredible woman and songwriter, her funny stories and character lifted me out of my raging hangover…

Kodaline – Although not everyone loves them… they are soooo talented…. AND IRISH! (Was pretty in love with them)

Ed Sheeran – Way too emotional the whole way through his set… Literally can’t fault him live

One of my favourite places of the whole experience has got to be Shangri-hell. Trooping through every night until 7am did not seem a struggle in this place… the place was buzzing.

I’ve been to Glastonbury twice now, this year and last year and still have not experienced half of everything I want to see… so many fields, so much fun to be had… I still haven’t had a massage from the healing fields or eaten a vegan breakfast…. But there’s always next year.

So anyone who hasn’t been yet, set yourself up on a million laptops and make sure you get yourself a ticket this year… because you’ll have the most fun you’ll ever had, make the best friends in the world, and all you’ll be thinking about after is how you are going to get a ticket for the next one.

I LOVE YOU GLASTONBURY YOU ABSOLUTE DREAMER

PEACE AND LOVE AND GLASTO
