A perfect Easter Vitamin D-Detox that you will not forget!

After a weekend of a fair amount of chocolate and unhealthy bits and bobs, a detox was much needed! But instead of heading to the gym, I thought I’d take advantage of one of the most beautiful days of the year so far and climb a big old hill to burn off a few of the chocolate calories – and it was a great decision!

Before starting my day, I had a rainbow fruit salad for my breakfast, as I needed some vitamins and colour in my life, before picking up my friend and heading to Hay-on-Wye. It’s such a gorgeous little town and we had a walk round all the shops and lusted over some amazing looking fudge (but carefully resisted!) … However, we may have given in to ice cream temptation at Shepherds – no regrets! I had peanut butter and chocolate and mint choc chip…. Yes, this is still a detox if you’ve seen the size of Hay Bluff (the hill)!

It was such a gorgeous day to be doing it that I didn’t even think about the exercise… I highly recommend a day out walking up a hill if you are lacking fitness inspiration – the views were absolutely incredible. And I must have burned off a few eggs and the ice cream at least!

Vitamin D from the sun can prevent bone abnormalities, brittle bones and can help increase resistance again some diseases. The sunshine is also a mood enhancer, which will lift you out of your easter chocolate coma!

Peace and Love and Sunshine x

The place that will never disappoint… I LOVE YOU GLASTONBURY

ImageImage

What can I say… Glastonbury, you are a festival of dreams.

Those of you who enjoy the odd festival, but have never decided to set foot in the heart of Worthy Farm, please take my advice and make the life changing decision to try and get a ticket for next year.

Glastonbury is by far the most amazing, beautiful, massive and magical festival I’ve ever been to and offers something to everyone of every age and personality. I cannot deny that you may end up smelling as bad as the toilets and crying for days after, but believe me I would not change a second of it.

A few of the artists I was lucky enough to experience at the festival included the legendary:

Dolly Parton, Ed Sheeran, Blondie, The Kooks, Kodaline, John Newman…. (the list goes on but I am getting emotional typing these out.)

Dolly Parton – what an incredible woman and songwriter, her funny stories and character lifted me out of my raging hangover…

Kodaline – Although not everyone loves them… they are soooo talented…. AND IRISH! (Was pretty in love with them)

Ed Sheeran – Way too emotional the whole way through his set… Literally can’t fault him live

One of my favourite places of the whole experience has got to be Shangri-hell. Trooping through every night until 7am did not seem a struggle in this place… the place was buzzing.

I’ve been to Glastonbury twice now, this year and last year and still have not experienced half of everything I want to see… so many fields, so much fun to be had… I still haven’t had a massage from the healing fields or eaten a vegan breakfast…. But there’s always next year.

So anyone who hasn’t been yet, set yourself up on a million laptops and make sure you get yourself a ticket this year… because you’ll have the most fun you’ll ever had, make the best friends in the world, and all you’ll be thinking about after is how you are going to get a ticket for the next one.

I LOVE YOU GLASTONBURY YOU ABSOLUTE DREAMER

PEACE AND LOVE AND GLASTO

Brighten things up with Spangled

Image

So as you probably know, I’m a bit of a fan of colour and fun when it comes to summer styling…
I came across Spangled when I was browsing for fun things to wear at festivals and I absolutely fell in love with their sunglasses.

All handmade to order, these shades make quite a statement and Spangled also do some amazing printed bodysuits, dresses and swimwear for anyone wishing to stand out a little from the crowd.

The sunglasses above are the Gummy Bear Shades and my absolute favourite, because what is not to like about these beauties! Round and very on trend, these multicoloured frames will offer something a bit different to a summer’s day!

I definitely recommend having a browse of the Spangled site – they have some crazily cool, weird and wonderful products which are all a treat for the eyes!

… And they have a new website and new prints coming soon so stay tuned!

For the love of bumbags

ImageImage

Bumbags are such a great invention… I’m so glad that a bag so perfectly practical came back in to fashion. I love this one from Asos (above) in brown and black. I’m such a huge fan of fringing and tassels at the moment – I think it gives things a bit of pretty hippy-ness about them! I also like the fact that it’s real leather, because it’s all about QUALITY – everyone needs a hard-wearing bag that will last them through thick and thin – so worth an investment!

But, if you are looking for something a bit less plain and a little more quirky (and I’m a massive fan of lots of crazy colour) then look no further…

These beauties from Urban Outfitters are not only practical, but look absolutely awesome. I love the print and colours on all three of these and they will definitely jazz up a plain outfit. Perfect for skipping around in the summer sun!

Stay happy 🙂

Love

Ahhhhh I love this…. soooo cute. Forgive me if I do some style stealing again…

OK, so the dungarees alone are nearly $300…

But… with a little bit of browsing… I found…

Dungarees (OK, so these aren’t quite as dark, but actually… there are some really cool darker ones from Topshop that are meant for maternity, but bought in a small size should be perfect for a “boyfriend” look, like the photo… but I thought people may think I’m crazy if I linked you guys to some maternity dungarees!) http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?searchTerm=dungarees&storeId=12556&productId=13815964&urlRequestType=Base&categoryId=&langId=-1&productIdentifier=product&catalogId=33057

Top (This in a big size will look really similar – like the cut-out detail): http://www.asos.com/Mango/Mango-Embroidered-Cut-Out-Top/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3757749&cid=4169&Rf937=2428,4140&Rf-200=5&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=White

Hat (Personally I’d want a bigger brim, but…): http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?searchTerm=floppy+hat&storeId=12556&productId=11677746&urlRequestType=Base&categoryId=&langId=-1&productIdentifier=product&catalogId=33057

All that comes to £85.99… and who needs shoes 😉 I’m joking… Boots or flip flops would do fine!

Style stealing off Free People is probably my favourite thing. So gorgeous.
