Craving some colour in your cheeks? Look no further

Just want to do a quick post about one of my favourite products (possibly of all time.) The best ever product to give your face an all round healthy glow, without looking at all orange is… (drum roll please!)

Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer.

This stuff is an absolute dream. It is specifically for your face, and is so easy to use. All you need to do is hold it about 40cm from the face and move the can from side to side for about 3 seconds. If you follow these simple instructions, it leaves you with such a healthy glow and looks so natural. You can keep using it every day until you reach the desired colour. It is called self tanning dry face mist and it feels really light on your skin and dries in seconds.

Not only does it make you look like you have a natural tan (making you look so much healthier, especially in the Winter months when times are pale!) but it also smells INCREDIBLE. It is one of my favourite smells. Reminds me of holiday and just smells lovely… which is unexpected from a fake tan!

It is only £8.49 at Superdrug, but well worth the price – amazing product!

Peace and love and glowing faces x

A love-list of Winter accessories

I went on a cheeky shopping trip yesterday to buy my best friend a birthday present… and ended up treated myself to a couple of little bits as well… oops!

Hat – New Look £7 (SALE)
Knee high socks – HnM £5.99
Ankle socks – New Look £2.99

At the moment there is a sale happening in New Look on loads of big wooly hats with fairly big reductions! I think the one that I bought was previously priced at £11.99 and it went down to £7! I absolutely love it… it’s nice and thick and cosy, but also the jewels on the front make it sparkle a bit, which is perfect for the Winter season as I love to get sparkly… actually I love getting sparkly in all the seasons…

The ankle socks are really cute with the frills and look pretty with ankle boots… I bought two pairs of these because I am terrible with socks… my sock drawer is full of odd socks and I just don’t understand how it happens!! (oops teehee)

Finally I bought some thick wooly knee high socks from HnM, which I can wear with my favourite Winter boots from All Saints as they come up to calf level. I love these as they are sooo cosy.

If you are looking for a cosy hat for Winter, I definitely recommend taking a trip to New Look – they have so many lovely ones in the sale!!

Peace and Love x

Cosy days and sparkly ways

Firstly, I want to say sorry for not having blogged in a month! Crazy behaviour! I have been ridiculously busy settling in to final year at uni… it really is just as hectic as they say! Looking forward to the degree at the end of it though! 🙂

I just wanted to write a little post on what I love so much about Autumn/Winter clothes…

What I do not enjoy is the rain.. and the cold… and getting in to uni looking completely dishevelled and like a drowned rat. However, I do love those cosy times when you put on a big snuggly jumper and it’s frosty and pretty outside.

Also, what is totally brilliant about this time of year, is that party-wear gets SEQUIN-Y and VELVETY and YUMMY.

Topshop’s Party Rules gives you some great tips on wearing sequins… which is worth a read if you like to sparkle! However, in my book, there are no rules about how sequin-y you can be… the more the better! 😉

The sequin range is also amazing… SEQUIN JOGGERS…. YES PLEASE. These will be making the Christmas list cut!

3 charity-shop shopping tips to help you track down those little gems

charity shopbarnados

Hunting through rail after rail of clothes for that perfect item may not be everyone’s cup of tea…

But with enough dedication and some close attention to detail, you can find so many little gems that would have cost you the earth in another shop. As it is my day off University today, I thought I’d take a little trip out in to Winton high street and have a browse of what the many charity shops have to offer. As a poor University student in my final year, I should not really be shopping… my time should be spent reading up for my lectures and seminars in the rest of the week…. but everybody needs a bit of a treat sometimes, right? All work and no play is bad for us!

As I am a very practised shopper, it did not take me very long to find a bargain hanging on one of the rails in Barnados…

As it is the Autumn season, people are beginning to do the yearly thing of investing in knitwear and big cosy coats and jackets to keep us warm in those cold Winter months. But surprise surprise, these kinds of clothes are the most expensive (more material etc.) and for most of us, not on the top of our list of spending priorities. But if like me, you love the feel of showing off a new item of clothing, then I would definitely recommend a bit of charity shop bargain hunting.

In Barnados, my beady eyes noticed a cosy-looking stripey garment hanging on a rail in my size and I immediately picked it up. You know you’ve found a great bargain in a charity shop when you look at the price and think, “they have definitely priced this wrong, I’d better buy it quickly so they don’t realise and change the price…”
So I tried it on – lucky for me it fitted perfectly – and went and paid for it at the till.

The other wonderful thing about charity shops is that 99% of the time the staff are absolutely grateful that you are making a purchase so you always get a kind smile and a helping hand when needed.

So I walked out with my £4.49 warm snuggly Winter garment and skipped off down the high street.

3 charity shop shopping tips to help you track down those little gems:

  • Allow yourself some time – Don’t rush. You aren’t going to find any bargains if you don’t pay careful attention to what you are looking at. There will be items that you like, so keep your eyes peeled and take your time!
  • Pay careful attention to the sizes on the hangers. It’s no good finding the perfect item if you then realise that it is not your size – remember you can’t just ask for another size in a charity shop!
  • Don’t just visit one shop. There are so many charity shops around, all with different items to offer.

And remember, if you don’t find what you are looking for that day, go again! The beauty of charity shops is that people take in bags of clothes daily, so you never know what new items have come in!

Peace and Love and charity shops
